We had our show at Toys last night. It was good, not many people came. Billy and I saw some "cool cats" walking down his street while we were loading up of shit while we were singing music from Lucky Stiff. On the way to the show we were belting out some Rise Against, and then we went to Cane's. The guitarist from Meet the Great Concealer told me we were pretty good. I didn't get to see much of their set because I went to Pete's with Callie, Sara, and Donna, and Billy brought Mariya in his truck. Donna is a crazy dancer. Callie was like, I guess you would say flirting with some random Mexican guy in a truck on the side of us. It was so funny before the show though, Trevor was jumping on Jullian and riding around, it was hysterical. Then he and Kevin got in the back of Billy's truck and were mooning us, and he took off. Next weekend we have a show with Paris in Peril and POABD at Toys on February 5th, and perhaps people will go to that one, but its doubtful that they will stay for us, even though we go all out balls to the wall (and other cliched rock expressions). I mean Trevor really gets into it. He knocked his mic stand down with his bass.  Today I woke up and had to go to that Math competition thing because my sister volunteered me.  The best part was seeing the Notre Dame Mathletes with their shirts that had "Pi" on the back of it.

Dutch Oven has shows again! [Jan. 16th, 2005|10:11 am]
[Current Music |Metallica "Fight fire with fire"]

Dutch Oven is going to have a practice on Martin Luther King Day, and we have two upcoming shows: At the lovely Toys Music Center on Ridge Road, Dutch Oven!: Friday January 28th and Saturday February 5th We also received some hate-mail on myspace. Only one was actually hate-mail, the others were from a kid we go to school wit that likes the band. The actual hate-mail we received was from a man named "Jimmy" who is an Oriental Man who thinks he is black. I only have one thing to say to that "Wigga please." Lets read his email shall we?

Hello, after being on hiatus for quite sometime I am updating this journal. We had mid-terms a while back and I made 100 on English, a 98 on Civics, and a 94 on French. I do not know the rest of the grades. Christmas rolled around and I received numerous DVD's that are enjoyable. RUSH in Rio, The Back to the Future Trilogy, and the 5th season of the Simpsons. I also received Jimmy Eat World "Clarity," and Rise Against "Revolutions Per Minute." I also got a gift card to Best Buy and purchased Thursday "Full Collapse" and Jimmy Eat World "Believe in What you want," which is a live DVD of them. Dutch Oven seems to be on hiatus, and my use of the word hiatus shall be on hiatus also.

[Current Music |Brand New "Guernica"]

Well I am updating because I have not for quite some time. I am kind of bored so it seemed like the cool thing to do.
Tonight is the football game, but I am not going, I would much rather stay home. Tomorrow is a practice. I am excited because I have a new song that I really like and I am looking forward to working on. School today was pretty good. I have a B in Algebra II, a B in English, an A in French and an A in Civics. I had the B in English because that Lord of the Flies test was messed up. I am very pumped about the B in Algebra though it won't last long.
Today in theology we did this thing where you write your name on a sheet of paper and then you pass it around and people write good things about you. 'Twas so heart-warming. One more week of school and then we are off for a week, but before we are off my band has a show at Main Street on the 19th of November.

I think this may be my last entry. I find updating involves too much work. Last night my band had a gig at Toys. It was fun. There was only 12 people in the place. We have a show in Kaplan that should be better. I would like to thank Andre and Greg for going to Toys and being part of our posse.
Leave some comments.
Go see my band.

...and other things that you should do...

Comment if you were at Toys, or have ever seen my band or have anything at all to say.

Bored out of my mind. Comment if you even remotely know me. I would appreciate it.

This Friday we have a pep rally and then a football game. Trevor is not going because he is going to the STM game. I doubt Will will go because well thats not his forte (hah Will Forte). My band has a show this Saturday at Toys (September 4th). I don't know that I want to play it; few people seem to like my band as it is and at Toys we have had our worst response.

Show at Toys [Aug. 22nd, 2004|10:34 am]

Last night we played at Toys.  It was pretty fun, although I am partial to Main Street.  Each one has its advantages.  We played first because they told us to.  Dustin was mad, but they did tell us to play first.  We had not practiced so we were kind of out of it.  There were other problems, such as, not being in tune and other stuff that I can't remember.  It was fun though, and that is really all that matters.  BNI hit the stage...wow, and Jeff took off his shirt and it was funny.  I must say they were better than last time I saw them, so that is good.  After BNI a band called "An Army of Blue and Blackers" played, which was 2/3 of Stands for Nothing, who was supposed to play, but things don't always work out.

I found out last night that we are supposed to play at a C.D. release for Article 11 in Kaplan.  I believe that is on the 18th of September, and that should be cool.

Thanks to everyone that came out to see us, and to everyone that came out just to support the scene in general.

Our next gig is September 3rd (Friday) at Cite des Arts.  I am looking forward to that, it should be fun.  Sadly that is the day of TCH's first football game and I was looking forward to that.  Also that means some of the people that usually frequent our gigs won't make it.

Comment if you were at Toys and what not.

The show last night.... [Aug. 15th, 2004|10:22 am]
[Current Mood |contentcontent]
[Current Music |"Dead on Arrival" Fallout Boy]

The show last night was supposed to start at 8, but sadly Jonathon, the singer was had tragedy in the family so they had to cancel. We ended up waiting until 9 to start playing because there was only one other band besides us. We played our set, and we played "Aftermath," even though we had cut it, and we played the new one at the end.
Thanks to all the people that came:
Micah (Trevor's cousin that didn't know anyone)
Austin and Sam (from No Such Thing)
Dustin, Camille and Stacy (representing the Senior class)
and Aaron, our producer? and manager? also from Article 11

Comment if you were at the show and had fun or didn't go, or anything about that show.
This Saturday (the 21st) we play at Toys with Batteries Not Included and Stands for Nothing.
